The Obstetrics & Gynecology Residency Program at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center is a fully accredited four-year program by ACGME and approved by ABOG. This program offers exceptional hands-on training with high academic standards and a focus on scholarly activities. Residents participate in various educational activities, have access to structured weekly Grand Rounds, faculty mentorship, independent research opportunities, and time for elective rotations. The program boasts a 100% ABOG Written Exam pass rate for new graduates over the last decade.
Rotations primarily take place on campus, with some occurring at affiliated institutions like Memorial Sloane Kettering Cancer Center and Flushing Hospital Medical Center. By collaborating with academic institutions, residents get exposure to the latest diagnostic and management modalities.
The program supports 12 categorical and 1 preliminary residents. Residents start early and receive extensive training in minimally invasive surgery, including structured education and simulation in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery.
Application requirements for this program include completing the ERAS application, providing letters of recommendation, a personal statement, medical school transcripts, and Step 1 and Step 2 scores of the USMLE or COMLEX. Applicants must have graduated from medical school within the last five years and been actively involved in U.S. clinical medicine within the past two years. Eligibility to work in the US is limited to US Citizens, Permanent Residents, or those with a J-1 Visa.
