NYU Grossman Long Island School of Medicine Program

The Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency program at NYU Langone Health offers a structured educational environment to develop superbly trained physicians in general obstetrics and gynecology. Led by Residency Program Director Olivia P. Myrick, MD, the program aims to empower residents to actively participate in their education and prioritize their wellness and satisfaction. Residents gain experience at NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue, NYU Langone's Tisch Hospital, and NYU Langone Hospital—Brooklyn, providing personalized care for women.

The program emphasizes diversity and inclusion, committing to recruiting a diverse community dedicated to excellence in obstetrics and gynecology. The Residency Education Team includes a Director of Resident Research, a Director of Simulation, and an Associate Director of Simulation for Gynecology and Obstetrics.

Residents participate in clinical, research, and didactic training across various sites, including high-volume clinical settings and exposure to diverse patient populations. A structured curriculum includes weekly lecture series, case reviews, grand rounds, journal clubs, and a narrative medicine curriculum to enhance empathy and reduce burnout among residents.

The application process involves submitting materials through ERAS, with applications due by October 1, 2023. Requirements include a completed ERAS application, Medical Student Performance Evaluation, medical school transcript, USMLE scores, and letters of recommendation. While there is no specified minimum USMLE score requirement, most applicants have a score of over 230 on USMLE Step 1. Virtual interviews for the class of 2028 are scheduled for November and December 2023.
