Inova Fairfax Medical Campus Program

The Inova Fairfax Medical Campus Neurosurgical Residency Program is a comprehensive seven-year program fully accredited by the ACGME and directed by Dr. James W. Leiphart, MD, PhD. Residents receive thorough training in Neurosurgery as a clinical, surgical, and research discipline. The program offers a wide variety of neurosurgical procedures, technologies, and innovation.

The Inova Fairfax Medical Campus is continually growing, becoming a top healthcare provider with over 1,000 beds. They offer advanced facilities including a neuroscience Intensive Care Unit and a surgical training suite. The campus houses the Inova Fairfax Hospital, a Level 1 Trauma Center, and other specialized institutes such as the Inova Children's Hospital and Inova Heart & Vascular Institute.

Prospective residents must submit applications through ERAS by September 15. The program accepts one categorical resident annually and evaluates candidates through the National Resident Matching Program. Applicants must have graduated from medical school or osteopathic medical school and met specific clinical experience requirements.
