Kent Hospital/Brown University Program

The Kent Hospital/Brown University Internal Medicine Residency Program is an ACGME-accredited program at a vibrant, academic community hospital with a longstanding commitment to excellence in medical education. The program offers a 38-resident categorical program that supports clinical experience, scholarly development, scientific inquiry, and professional growth.

Application Requirements: - Submit application materials anytime after the ERAS post office opens in September. - Required items include COMLEX or USMLE scores (Step 1 and 2 when available), dean's letter and transcript, personal statement, and at least 3 letters of recommendation. - For international graduates: U.S. Clinical Experience with references, medical school graduation date less than 3 years prior to application, and acceptance of J1 visa. - Interview process for the 2021-2022 season will be conducted virtually.

Program Information: - Length of the Internal Medicine Residency Program is 36 months centered at Kent Hospital. - Curriculum focuses on six core competencies including various inpatient rotations and subspecialties. - Residents participate in hospital committees and serve on patient and safety-related boards.

Population Health Track: - Focuses on addressing factors that impact health and wellness with an emphasis on the community's role in health outcomes and quality of care. - Residents gain skills in data interpretation, health equity, leadership, and quality improvement.
