The New York Medical College/Landmark Medical Center Internal Medicine Residency Program is an ACGME accredited program offering both a categorical and preliminary track with a total of 26 current residents. Located in an underserved area in Northern Rhode Island, the program provides a personalized, hands-on training environment in a community hospital setting.
With sponsorship from New York Medical College, residents have access to a variety of resources and opportunities. The program emphasizes continued medical education and training in a safe, challenging, and rewarding environment. Interviews for the 2024 class will be conducted virtually from September to January.
The application process for the program includes submitting 3 Letters of Recommendation, a CV through ERAS, an official USMLE or COMLEX transcript, a personal statement, an official Medical School transcript, a Dean's letter of recommendation, and a current professional photograph. Graduation from medical school within the past 3 years is required. While there is no minimum USMLE or COMLEX score requirement, applicants must have passed USMLE Step 1, Step 2, or COMLEX Level 1 and Level 2.
Foreign Medical Graduates are welcome to apply but must meet the same requirements as domestic graduates. The program currently supports J1 Visas and requires applicants to have clinical experience in the United States involving direct patient care. Up-to-date ECFMG certification is also necessary for foreign graduates.
The program's curriculum offers a well-rounded educational experience in internal medicine through a mix of clinical work and didactic lectures. Residents have the opportunity to rotate through various specialties within internal medicine, with a focus on inpatient and outpatient settings.
