New York-Presbyterian/Queens Program

The NewYork-Presbyterian Queens Internal Medicine Residency program offers both one-year and three-year training programs with a focus on preparing residents for subspecialty fellowships or primary care practice. The program has 18 categorical positions per year and 6 preliminary positions. The program director is Lourdes Sansó, MD.

Application requirements state that candidates must apply through ERAS by November 15th. A passing score on Step 2, first attempt, is required. For Osteopathic applicants, a score of 475 and above on COMLEX Level 1 and COMLEX Level 2 CE 1st attempt is necessary. International Medical Graduates are encouraged to have one year of clinical experience in the US and to have passed USMLE Steps 1, 2CK & CS before the Match. US Citizenship or Permanent Residence is strongly preferred, and the program does not sponsor H-1B Visas.

The program has had alumni placed in various fellowship programs across the country, including in Hematology/Oncology, Pulmonary/Critical Care, Endocrinology, Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Geriatrics, and more.

Residents from the program have presented research at conferences around the country on a wide range of medical topics. The program fosters a culture of research activity among its residents.
