Application Process and Eligibility

The application process for this fellowship includes several requirements:

• Completion of an ACGME-accredited anesthesiology residency.
• Submission of a completed application form.
• Three letters of recommendation from physicians attesting to the applicant's qualifications, preferably including one from the residency director.
• A current CV along with a recent photo.
• USMLE or COMLEX test scores.
• A personal statement focusing on the candidate's interest in the fellowship.
• Participation in a personal interview held on the Ohio State University campus.

Applications are typically reviewed by a committee consisting of the fellowship program coordinator, program director, and obstetric anesthesiology director. All candidates must possess a valid certificate from the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) if they are graduates of medical schools outside the United States and Canada. The program also requires candidates to be eligible for either a training certificate or a permanent medical license as issued by the Ohio state medical board.1
