The Radiology Diagnostic Residency Program at Richmond University Medical Center (RUMC) is a fully accredited ACGME four-year training program located in Staten Island, New York. The program operates within RUMC, a large community hospital serving as a Level I Trauma Center and a major Stroke Center for Staten Island.
With a total of eight current residents, the program offers a comprehensive curriculum that includes core rotations such as ER, gastrointestinal and uroradiological fluoroscopy, pediatrics, cardiovascular and interventional radiology, neuroradiology, and body imaging. Residents also gain experience in nuclear medicine, musculoskeletal radiology, mammography, ultrasound, thoracic imaging, and body MRI.
Residents benefit from a supportive environment, with a night float system during the week and 24-hour call on weekends. The program provides educational opportunities through stipends for conferences, including a fully paid AIRP conference, and board review courses. Lecture series are conducted by the program staff and external lecturers.
The radiology department at RUMC is equipped with state-of-the-art imaging technologies, including PET/CT fusion, cardiac CT, digital mammography, and whole-body MRI. Residents have the opportunity to work closely with board-certified, fellowship-trained attending radiologists who cover all subspecialties.
