The Anesthesiology Residency Program at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis offers a 4-year categorical residency program with three positions available yearly. The program focuses on excellent patient care, professionalism, education, and teamwork to develop outstanding perioperative consultants. The program provides diverse experiences including high-acuity trauma cases, robust regional anesthesia training, high-risk obstetrics, and strong cardiac and pediatric experiences.
For applicants, interviews will be conducted virtually via Zoom with at least 3 faculty members. Virtual meet and greets with current residents are also available. In-person campus tours can be arranged for prospective candidates after the Rank Order List Certification Deadline. Application requirements include a completed Resident application form using the ERAS system, a Dean's letter, medical school transcript, and three letters of recommendation from clinicians.
Applicants must be US citizens, permanent residents, or foreign nationals eligible for J-1 visas. The University of Tennessee Health Science Center does not sponsor H1-B visas. Additional optional information such as certified copies of additional credentials may be submitted.
