Current topics under research include non-alcoholic steatohepatitis, inflammatory bowel disease treatment efficacy, and various aspects of gastrointestinal physiology. Applicants to the fellowship should have completed, or be in the process of completing, a three-year ACGME-accredited Pediatrics residency. Essential components of the application include at least three letters of recommendation, a personal statement explaining the candidate's interest in pediatric gastroenterology, and documentation of United States medical education, including passing scores on Steps 1, 2, and 3 of the USMLE. A valid ECFMG certificate is required for non-U.S. graduates, and it is essential that candidates do not have more than one failed attempt at the Step examinations.
