The Trinity Health Oakland/Wayne State University Diagnostic Radiology Program is a five-year training program that includes a Transitional Year and four years of Diagnostic Radiology at THO-WSU. They aim to provide residents with a supportive educational environment to help them become outstanding consultant radiologists. Residents receive broad-based experience in all forms of radiologic examinations and have access to state-of-the-art equipment.

The program is proud to offer the Early Specialization in Interventional Radiology (ESIR) pathway, with 4 ESIR positions available. Residents have the option to specialize in interventional radiology.

They accept three residents per academic year and train at four hospitals, including Trinity Health Oakland, Children's Hospital of Michigan, Trinity Health Ann Arbor Hospital, and Trinity Health Livonia Hospital.

State-of-the-art equipment in the radiology department includes advanced CT, MRI, ultrasound, fluoroscopy, angiography, nuclear medicine, and mammography machines. They also provide a variety of educational resources and rotate through multiple learning experiences.

Residents receive an annual stipend for meal expenses and an educational allowance. Salary and allowances vary by year of training.

The program has dedicated radiology conferences and educational resources to enhance learning. Residents are also encouraged to participate in research projects and scholarly activities. All residents are required to participate in teaching medical students.

Applicants to the program must be graduates of accredited MD or DO medical schools within the last 3 years. Preference is given to applicants with passing USMLE Step 1 and Step 2 CK scores of 230 or greater. International medical graduates must have a standard ECFMG certificate and complete an accredited internship in the United States.

The Trinity Health Oakland/Wayne State University Program is a Categorical program, with candidates automatically matching to a PGY-1 position in the Transitional Year program at Trinity Health Oakland.

The application deadline for the residency program is October 15, 2023. They sponsor only J-1 visas for ECFMG visa sponsorship.
