The University of Maryland Medical Center (UMMC) offers a one-year, ACGME-accredited Endovascular Surgical Neuroradiology (ESN) Fellowship for qualified candidates, providing comprehensive training in advanced neuroendovascular procedures. The fellowship is accessible to medical professionals from various backgrounds, including Radiology, Neurology, and Neurosurgery. This adaptable structure allows for a longer pathway, accommodating applicants from different specialties, including opportunities for a 2- or 3-year program specifically tailored for Neurology track applicants, who may also complete necessary stroke training alongside the ESN fellowship at UMMC.

Curriculum and Rotations

The fellowship focuses extensively on both endovascular and percutaneous procedures. During the program, fellows participate in a variety of critical clinical cases, including diagnostic cerebral angiograms, embolization of intracranial aneurysms, management of vascular malformations, and trauma surgery. In addition to cranial studies, fellows also engage in spinal interventions, such as vertebroplasty and kyphoplasty, along with radiofrequency ablation and pain management techniques.

Competitiveness and Application Requirements
