Capital Health Regional Medical Center Program

The Capital Health Family Medicine Residency Program is an ACGME-accredited program located in Mercer County, providing training for independent, comprehensive family physicians. The program emphasizes extraordinary resident education, abundant clinical experience, and high-quality patient care. The faculty is dedicated to delivering safe, excellent care while allowing residents appropriate independence and autonomy. Application to the program is conducted through ERAS. An Applicant must be graduating from or a graduate of a medical college accredited by the LCME, AOA, or an International Medical School with formal US clinical rotation training. Graduation from medical school should have occurred within three years of applying for residency. Applicants must be US citizens or permanent residents; the program does not accept or sponsor visas but reviews applications with a valid Employment Authorization Document.

Residents can expect robust training in various aspects of family medicine, over a structured three-year curriculum with traditional and innovative didactics, hospital training at Capital Health Medical Center - Hopewell, and ambulatory training at Capital Health Primary Care - Brunswick Avenue. The program offers longitudinal experiences in community health, geriatrics, procedural training, research, and health systems management. Didactics include a variety of educational activities, with a focus on procedural competence and patient counseling.

The salary for residents ranges from around $62,920.80 for PGY1 to $70,532.80 for PGY3 annually, along with comprehensive benefits including vacation time, CME days, health and dental insurance, disability and malpractice insurance, white coats and jackets, free meals during hospital shifts, and more. Additionally, the program provides various opportunities for resident wellness, participation in committees, and involvement in professional conferences.

Marissa Stabile, DO, serves as the Program Director, bringing a wealth of experience and leadership in family medicine residency programs. The program also boasts a team of dedicated core faculty members, including Danielle Carcia, DO, FAAFP, and other skilled physicians such as Diana Bonaccorsi, DO, and Cresandra E. Corbin, MD. Residents are involved in quality improvement projects, presentations at national conferences, and scholarly work throughout their training.
