The Neuroradiology Fellowship at Cedars-Sinai is designed to cultivate practitioners who can function as experts in the diagnosis and treatment of neuroradiologic patients. This involves extensive training in both noninvasive and invasive diagnostic as well as interventional procedures. Fellows are engaged in collaborative patient care, working alongside a multidisciplinary team that includes radiologists, other physicians, and healthcare providers. The volume of procedures and the program's robust curriculum bolster the fellow's experience, enhancing their confidence and competency in cases they will encounter post-fellowship.1

Curriculum and Training

The curriculum is comprehensive, covering all domains of neuroradiology, as well as focusing on specialized training in therapeutic modalities. The structure includes:

• Four weeks of head and neck neuroradiology.
• Four weeks of spine neuroradiology.
• Four weeks dedicated to pediatric neuroradiology.
• Six weeks of vascular neuroradiology.
• 24 to 26 weeks focusing on general adult diagnostic neuroradiology.

Clinical training encompasses a variety of imaging techniques and modalities such as:

• Computed Tomography (CT)
• Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI) and Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy (MRS)
• Plain Radiography
• Positron Emission Tomography (PET) and CT
• Various invasive procedures including diagnostic cerebral angiography and spinal interventions.

This rich array of training makes fellows well-versed in both fundamental and advanced imaging techniques and procedures vital to neuroradiology.1

Research Opportunities

The program also encourages scholarly activity and provides opportunities for fellows to engage in research under the guidance of experienced mentors. This includes project design, statistical analysis, and preparation for publication, which together create a well-rounded training experience.1

Application Information

Candidates who wish to apply must currently be enrolled in or have completed a diagnostic radiology residency within an ACGME-accredited program. The application process functions year-round, with essential components including:

• Curriculum Vitae (CV)
• Personal Statement
• Two Letters of Recommendation, one from the residency program director
• Copy of USMLE transcript and medical school diploma

Interviews for selected candidates are carried out from January to March each year.3
