With a comprehensive four-year program accredited for seven categorical positions at each level, the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center (CSMC) boasts a team of faculty members specialized in various subspecialties, including Maternal-Fetal Medicine, Gynecologic Oncology, Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery, and Complex Family Planning. Residents experience a high surgical and clinical volume, with approximately 7,000 deliveries and upwards of 10,000 pregnancy-related admissions annually, along with thousands of gynecologic surgeries performed each year. This high-volume practice supports the extensive training provided during residency.

Training & Curriculum

The residency curriculum is designed to build in-depth knowledge and skills progressively over the four years. The first year focuses on a broad exposure to obstetrics and gynecology, gynecologic oncology, high-risk obstetrics, and family planning, with core rotations emphasizing ambulatory care, surgical intensive care, and anesthesiology. The second year reinforces knowledge with core rotations while allowing dedicated research time to advance residency projects.
