The ACGME accredited Dignity Health St. Rose Dominican Internal Medicine Residency Program is committed to training physicians to provide comprehensive internal medicine care in the healthcare environment of Clark County and Nevada. The program offers two tracks: a categorical internal medicine residency track and a primary care track. Residents are prepared to become board-certified general internists with additional skills essential for primary care internal medicine if in the primary care track.
The program utilizes an X+Y scheduling format with 13 weeks of ambulatory experiences yearly, including continuity clinic, subspecialty clinics, simulation, and ambulatory didactics during the Y block. Training sites include St. Rose Dominican Hospitals, Dignity Health Medical Group, and other ambulatory centers within the Las Vegas/Henderson area.
For the application process, the residency program requires information through ERAS, such as personal statement, CV, Dean's letter, transcripts, and letters of recommendation. Graduates from approved medical schools within the last two years are eligible to apply. International Medical Graduates need ECFMG Certification and ECFMG Certificate before interview consideration.
Interviews are conducted virtually with standardized components involving the Program Director, faculty members, and opportunities to interact with current residents. The program does not sponsor VISAs of any type.
The salary and benefits offered include health, dental, vision insurance, life and disability insurance, a 403b plan, professional liability insurance, vacation and education leave, and additional benefits like resident educational retreats, access to medical resources, and more.
The program faculty consists of experienced Associate Program Directors, Chief Residents, Core Faculty, and Academic Hospitalists. The current internal medicine residents engage in a broad range of clinical interests and have diverse backgrounds reflecting a commitment to community service and patient advocacy.
