Duke University Hospital Program

The Duke University Hospital Pathology Residency Program, located in Durham, NC, offers exceptional training opportunities in anatomic and clinical pathology. Duke University Hospital is consistently highly rated by U.S. News and provides outstanding clinical, research, and academic resources.

The program structure includes a 48-month AP/CP Clinical Track curriculum with required rotations in surgical pathology, autopsy, forensics, cytopathology, and others. The residents get exposure to a wide range of conferences, teaching sessions, electives, and research opportunities.

The application requirements include submitting a curriculum vitae, medical school performance evaluation, letters of recommendation, medical school transcripts, personal statement, and USMLE/COMLEX-USA/ECFMG scores. There are no minimum requirements for board scores or years since medical school graduation, and J-1 visas are accepted.

Residents are expected to pass USMLE Step 3 before the end of the first year of training. The program is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive learning environment.
