Eastern Virginia Medical School Program

The Eastern Virginia Medical School Diagnostic Radiology Residency program offers comprehensive training in advanced diagnostic and interventional techniques. The program is based at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, a Level I trauma center, and features state-of-the-art technology including multiple MRI machines, multidetector CT machines, angiography suites, PET CT, and advanced radiologic equipment.

Residents also train at Bon Secours Maryview Medical Center, Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters, and with Medical Center Radiologists, the region's largest radiology practice. The program emphasizes patient-centered care and provides one-on-one resident-attending instruction without competition from fellows.

The application process for the Radiology Residency program includes submission through the Electronic Residency Application System (ERAS) with a deadline of November 30th. Required application components include the application form, medical school transcript, at least three letters of recommendation, USMLE scores (Step 1 required, Step 2 preferred), and a personal statement. Applicants with passing scores on USMLE Step 1 and Step 2 are considered for entrance into the residency program.
