Residents also train at Bon Secours Maryview Medical Center, Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters, and with Medical Center Radiologists, the region's largest radiology practice. The program emphasizes patient-centered care and provides one-on-one resident-attending instruction without competition from fellows.

The application process for the Radiology Residency program includes submission through the Electronic Residency Application System (ERAS) with a deadline of November 30th. Required application components include the application form, medical school transcript, at least three letters of recommendation, USMLE scores (Step 1 required, Step 2 preferred), and a personal statement. Applicants with passing scores on USMLE Step 1 and Step 2 are considered for entrance into the residency program.

The program offers a diverse patient base, varied procedures, and ample learning opportunities. Residents benefit from a small-program attention atmosphere with only 16 residents, promoting ample discussion in teaching conferences and individualized attention. They also have the advantage of access to large medical facilities and a broad range of procedures and pathology. The region offers a high quality of life with flexible living options.

Overall, the EVMS Diagnostic Radiology Residency program has a proven track record of excellence in accreditation, board exam performance, research activities, and fellowship opportunities for graduates. It provides a supportive and enriching environment for residents to develop into competent and successful radiologists.
