The Family Medicine Residency of Idaho - Caldwell program is part of the Full Circle Health program and is tailored to provide comprehensive rural family medicine training. The faculty in Caldwell is dedicated to training Family Medicine Physicians and the program is unopposed, garnering support from the entire medical community in Caldwell and the neighboring areas. Residents at this program receive a broad training experience and are integrated into the medical group, enabling them to have both professional and personal flexibility to develop well-rounded skills and maintain a balanced lifestyle.
The Caldwell Residency program initially started as a Rural Training Track (RTT) in 1995 with one resident per year and has since expanded to accommodate more residents: two per year in 2006 and three per year in 2011. Graduates of the program have achieved board certification in family medicine, with a majority (88%) serving in rural communities. As of July 2023, the first year of training will take place in Caldwell with plans to transition back to Boise for pediatric and obstetrics/gynecology rotations.
