Clinical Training
The clinical experience encompasses the complete evaluation process for patients with presenting pulmonary complaints, including planning treatment strategies and monitoring patient outcomes. Fellows will actively manage patients in the Interventional Pulmonary Clinic and be exposed to a broad spectrum of interventional pulmonary procedures utilized for both diagnostic and therapeutic purposes. The faculty comprises experienced educators, all board-certified and well-trained at prestigious centers, who foster a rich learning environment.
Among the procedural training, fellows will engage in hands-on simulation training at the onset of the academic year, focusing on complex techniques, such as rigid bronchoscopy.
Curriculum
The curriculum includes advanced instruction in multiple interventional techniques such as:
- Flexible bronchoscopy and advanced imaging techniques
- Electromagnetic navigational bronchoscopy and Cone beam CT
- Robotic bronchoscopy
- Endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS) with TBNA
- Various therapeutic modalities including photodynamic therapy and argon plasma coagulation
- Pleural procedures, thoracic ultrasound, and indwelling catheter placements
Fellows are encouraged to undertake scholarly activities, with dedicated time each week to pursue research projects intended for presentation at national conferences. A monetary allowance is provided to assist with expenses related to these academic interactions. Expectations include the submission of at least one manuscript for a peer-reviewed journal before fellowship completion.

- Joint journal clubs with other fellowship programs
