In particular, the fellowship includes exposure to surgical and gynecologic oncology through collaborative rotations.

In addition to clinical training, fellows are actively encouraged to participate in research. The program facilitates dedicated research blocks during the second and third years where fellows can engage in various projects aligned with their interests in hematology and oncology. They can also engage in innovative programs, such as the Global Oncology Elective, which promotes cancer care initiatives in Botswana.

Competitiveness and Application Requirements

The Robert Wood Johnson Medical School Hematology/Oncology Fellowship is considered highly competitive. It necessitates completion of an ACGME-accredited internal medicine residency, alongside a valid ECFMG certificate for international medical graduates.
