St. Luke's Family Medicine Residency at Sacred Heart is dedicated to training skilled family physicians who are equipped to meet the healthcare needs of the Allentown community. This residency program has roots dating back to 1974, making it the oldest family medicine residency in the Lehigh Valley. Key criteria include graduation from a U.S. allopathic or osteopathic medical school or an internationally recognized institution, three letters of recommendation, and a demonstrated commitment to family medicine through personal statements and experiences.

Note that the program does not currently sponsor J-1 or H-1B visas. Applicants must have successfully passed USMLE/COMLEX Step 1 and Step 2 examinations on their first attempt, and they should have graduated within the last five years.
