Suburban Community Hospital Program

The Suburban Community Hospital Internal Medicine Residency Program offers a diverse clinical experience catering to underserved and affluent patient populations of all backgrounds. The program emphasizes autonomy for residents, with opportunities for hands-on experience in various procedures. There are two out-of-house elective blocks available for trainees. The program fosters a smooth transition to becoming an attending physician.

Application Requirements: - Graduates of medical schools in the United States or Canada accredited by the LCME, osteopathic medical schools accredited by the AOA, or medical schools outside the US with ECFMG certification and six months of US clinical experience. - Medical school graduation within the last five years. - Successful completion of USMLE Steps 1 & 2, CS & CK, or COMLEX Steps 1 & 2, CE & PE. Minimum scores specified on the website.

The Internal Medicine Residency Program at Suburban Community Hospital supports both USMLE and COMLEX exam scores for application. Residents are granted Paid Time Off (PTO) and are allowed to complete outside electives with approvals. The program provides teaching opportunities and has had graduates pursue various fellowships and hospitalist positions, showcasing a successful career path for its trainees. Moonlighting is permitted in the second year of residency training with prior approval.
