Tower Health Program

The Emergency Medicine Residency Program at Tower Health provides a comprehensive and innovative educational experience that aims to equip residents with the skills to become exceptional clinicians. The program is housed at Reading Hospital, a nationally recognized facility known for high-quality care, faculty commitment to resident growth, and a wide range of clinical experiences.

The three-year program has 10 PGY-1 positions available annually. Applicants must submit their applications through ERAS and participate in the NRMP match. Key requirements include completing the ERAS application, providing USMLE Step I scores, and having at least one Standardized Letter of Evaluation (SLOE). Interviews are conducted virtually between November and the end of January.

Residents will have access to a diverse range of clinical rotations throughout the program, including Emergency Medicine, Anesthesia, Medical ICU, Pediatric Emergency Medicine, and Trauma/General Surgery. Didactic sessions are held weekly and incorporate various teaching modalities to cater to different learning styles.

The Reading Hospital Emergency Department, which serves a large and diverse patient population, offers residents the opportunity to train in a high-volume, high-acuity academic setting. The department is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and resources to support resident education.

Residents also have the opportunity to engage in scholarly activities and research projects under the guidance of the program's Research Director. The program encourages resident wellness and offers various activities throughout the year to foster camaraderie and personal growth.
