The Dermatology Residency at Dell Medical School at The University of Texas at Austin aims to enhance dermatologic care in Central Texas and beyond through improved access to care, cutting-edge treatments, research, and education. The application process requires applicants to have completed USMLE Step 1 and Step 2 exams. Three to four letters of recommendation are needed, with at least one from a dermatologist. The program is recruiting four residents to start in July 2025. Dell Medical School does not consider applications from those needing visa sponsorship unless in special circumstances limited to J-1 visas. The residency does not have restrictions on accepting applicants who have completed a prior residency in another field.
The curriculum is designed to produce graduates proficient in medical, surgical, and pediatric dermatology, reinforce clinical education through didactics, engage residents in research and quality improvement projects, and encourage leadership development.
Virtual interviews for four residency positions at Dell Medical School will be held in January 26-27, 2024. The program participates in the Association of Professors of Dermatology Interview Invite Release Coordination program. Residents get exposure to virtual patient care as most general dermatology sites offer telemedicine services.
