UPMC Medical Education Program

The UPMC Williamsport Family Medicine Residency Program offers a comprehensive and nurturing educational experience in family medicine. The program is designed to develop highly competent and compassionate family physicians in a respectful, friendly, and professional atmosphere.

• The program continues its dedication to osteopathic manipulative medicine with Osteopathic Recognition through the ACGME, offering training to both osteopathic and allopathic residents in manipulative therapy across all clinical settings.

Application and Requirements: - Applicants need to submit an ERAS Application, three letters of recommendation, MSPE, and provide passing scores on USMLE I & II or COMLEX I & II. - Medical School graduation must be within three months of the anticipated start of residency. - Osteopathic recognition eligibility requires a minimum of 100 hours of osteopathic training.

Scholarly Activity & Quality Improvement Projects: - The residency program emphasizes evidence-based medicine and supports initiatives like Providers for Responsible Ordering and IMPLiCIT. - Residents participate in Quality Improvement projects, with recent initiatives focusing on diabetic care, the prevention of preterm delivery, chronic pain management, and transitional care management.
