UPMC Medical Education/Williamsport Hospital Program

The UPMC Williamsport Family Medicine Residency Program offers a well-rounded educational experience in a supportive learning environment. The program focuses on training full spectrum family doctors with a broad range of skills to pursue their dreams, become community leaders, and bring innovation to medicine. The program has been in operation for over 50 years and provides unique outreach opportunities, including optional areas of concentration like obstetrics, sports medicine, geriatrics, and others. They also offer training in osteopathic manipulative medicine with Osteopathic Recognition through the ACGME.

The program fosters a sense of community among residents and faculty, offering various activities such as annual softball games, potluck dinners, Quizzo nights, wine and design nights, and team sports. Residents have the opportunity to tailor their education to meet their individual goals, with the size of the program allowing for personalized training.

The program faculty includes experienced practitioners with specialties in family medicine, obstetrics, acute care, and osteopathic medicine. Residents have the option to concentrate in specific areas of interest and benefit from a supportive environment that encourages personal and professional growth.

For those interested in applying to the UPMC Williamsport Family Medicine Residency Program, the application requirements include completion of the ERAS application, three letters of recommendation, passing scores on USMLE I & II or COMLEX I & II, and medical school graduation within three months of the anticipated start of residency.
