Ascension Illinois/Saint Alexius Program

The Obstetrics & Gynecology Residency Program at Ascension Saint Alexius in Chicago and its western suburbs offers a diverse training experience across multiple facilities. Residents work with various patient populations under the guidance of a broad faculty. The program emphasizes a comprehensive education, clinical skill development, and diverse clinical exposure.

Residents benefit from protected educational time every Friday, featuring lectures, surgical skills labs, journal clubs, and more. They have the opportunity to teach medical students from the University of Illinois and Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine. Application requirements include a passing score on USMLE Step 1 and 2 or COMLEX exams for medical school graduates. Interviews are granted based on ERAS application review. The program offers six ACGME-approved positions annually.

Training sites include Ascension Saint Alexius, Ascension Resurrection, Advocate Christ Medical Center, and more. The curriculum involves rotations through various medical centers and sites, with over 60 monthly conferences.
