Loyola University Medical Center Program

The Loyola Dermatology Residency Program at Loyola University Medical Center offers a comprehensive and challenging dermatology training experience. The program serves a diverse patient population through Loyola Medicine and the Hines VA Medical Center, providing residents with exposure to a wide range of conditions and treatments. Loyola Medicine comprises the tertiary Loyola University Medical Center, a large 500+ bed hospital, and over 25 satellite outpatient clinics throughout western Chicagoland. This setup ensures that residents receive extensive training across different subspecialties within dermatology, including complex medical, pediatric, general dermatology, Mohs surgery, cosmetic dermatology, and dermatopathology.

The program emphasizes progressive autonomy throughout training, preparing residents for independent practice upon graduation. Strengths of the program include a diverse patient base, a balanced mix of supervision and autonomy, ample hands-on procedural dermatology experience, close interaction with faculty and peers, and support for various career paths within dermatology.

While Step 2 is recommended, it is not a compulsory requirement for application.
