The program also focuses on providing experience in laboratory management decisions and participation in patient safety initiatives.

The residency program includes 18 months of anatomic pathology and 18 months of clinical pathology, with additional elective time during the third and fourth years of residency. Rotations are evenly divided between anatomic and clinical pathology disciplines, occurring mainly at CHI Health/Creighton University Medical Center.

The Creighton University School of Medicine Pathology Residency Program is designed to provide a well-rounded experience in pathology, guided by detailed objectives and assessments throughout the training period. Residents benefit from the diverse and supportive environment at the institution, preparing them for fellowships and future careers in pathology.
