The University of Nebraska Medical Center Urologic Surgery Residency Program is a five-year postgraduate program that includes six months of General Surgery and six months of Urologic Surgery training in the first year. The subsequent years focus solely on Urologic Surgery training. Residents rotate through various area hospitals, including The Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha Veterans Administration Hospital, Children's Nebraska, and the Nebraska Methodist Hospital.

Throughout the program, residents engage in research to gain experience and understanding of study design, analysis, and reporting. They also participate in a structured course of study with scheduled conferences covering a wide range of urology topics, including andrology, pediatric urology, oncology, trauma, urodynamics, and more.

The Division of Urologic Surgery selects two residents annually, following the national match policy of the Society of Academic Urologists.
