The HCA Florida Orange Park Hospital Emergency Medicine Residency Program offers a comprehensive curriculum divided into 13 four-week blocks per year. Each EM block consists of a mix of day shifts, afternoon shifts, and night shifts, encompassing adult and pediatric patients with varying acuity levels.

In the first year (PGY-1), residents participate in rotations such as Orientation, EM, Elective/EM, PICU, Anesthesia/Ultrasound/Research, and MICU. The focus is on building foundational knowledge and procedural skills in Emergency Medicine.

During the second year (PGY-2), residents spend nine blocks in EM, with additional rotations in TICU/SICU, MICU, and elective opportunities like OB/US/Research. Emphasis is placed on refining skills in general emergency medicine and critical care.

In the third year (PGY-3), residents engage in 10 EM blocks, along with rotations in Elective, MICU, and Administration/Ultrasound. PGY-3 residents take on supervisory and teaching roles in the ED while furthering their education in critical care and trauma, with a focus on department management and teaching.

The program offers a diverse patient population and clinical settings in the Greater Jacksonville region, providing residents with a challenging and well-rounded training experience. Most training activities occur at Orange Park Medical Center, which boasts a busy ED and serves as a Level 2 Trauma Center, Comprehensive Stroke Center, and STEMI center.
