The Kettering Health Network Emergency Medicine Residency Program aims to train and retain proficient graduates who are well-rounded and prepared for careers in community-based emergency medicine. The program focuses on expanding to address the growing need for emergency physicians within the community. Residents will receive training at various locations, including Dayton Children's Medical Center, Dayton VA, Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio, and multiple Kettering Health locations.
The current residents in the program include PGY-1 to PGY-3s, comprising a mix of MDs and DOs. While the program prefers applicants with a first-attempt pass on COMLEX 1 and USMLE exams, each candidate is evaluated on an individual basis. The program exclusively accepts applications through ERAS.
The Program Director is Dr. James Schoen, DO, and the program offers 15 positions. It is accredited by ACGME with Osteopathic Recognition.
