The Larkin Community Hospital Neurology Residency Program is a four-year categorical program accredited by the ACGME. It combines academic medical center's neurosciences teaching and research mission with the supportive and friendly environment of a community hospital.
The program is designed to provide residents with comprehensive postdoctoral training in Neurology, including teaching, clinical service, compassionate patient care, and research. Residents will be eligible for board certification in Neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology upon successful completion of the program.
Throughout the program, residents participate in a well-organized curriculum, including seminars, teaching conferences by faculty and visiting lecturers, continuous case conferences, journal clubs, and individual supervision. Advancement to higher levels is based on performance excellence and achievement of core competencies from the previous educational year.
After completion of the program, residents will be prepared to enter neurology practice or pursue further subspecialty fellowship training. Graduation criteria include successful achievement of the program's goals and objectives across all essential teaching rotations.
