Curriculum and Rotations
The fellowship comprises a structured curriculum involving a total of at least twelve months of training, where fellows experience a variety of rotations as follows:
- Advanced Pediatric Anesthesia: 4 months
- Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesia: 2 months
- Pediatric Intensive Care Unit: 2 weeks
- Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit: 2 weeks
- Pediatric Regional and Acute Pain Management: 1 month
- Ambulatory Anesthesia: 1 month
- Non-operating room anesthesia: 1 month
- Transition to Practice: 1 month
- Research: 1 month
In addition to clinical experiences, there are substantial opportunities for didactic education. These include weekly lectures, journal clubs, case discussions, and simulation training which are integral to the learning process.

Moonlighting Policy
Fellows holding a permanent South Carolina medical license in good standing have the option to participate in internal moonlighting opportunities, which can supplement their education while not compromising the primary objectives of the fellowship.

The program offers visa sponsorship for Non-Immigrant work visas, which may include J-1 and H-1B visa types for international applicants. The program adopts a competitive selection process with an emphasis on encouraging applicants from diverse backgrounds, including DO graduates and international medical graduates (IMGs).

- Completion of an ACGME-accredited residency program in anesthesiology.
- Passing USMLE Step 1 on the first attempt; candidates with failed attempts will not be considered.
