The Meharry Medical College General Preventive Medicine and Public Health residency program offers a 24-month training experience that aims to cultivate future leaders in research, education, and intervention within General Preventive Medicine. To be eligible for the Meharry General Preventive Medicine and Public Health residency program, applicants must have completed an ACGME-accredited PGY-1 clinical year of training. The program accepts applications between September 1 and December 31 through ERAS, with interviews scheduled to commence in November. Applicants must be US citizens or lawful permanent residents (Green Card holders).
Applicants are required to submit a complete application package that includes documents such as the ERAS application, Curriculum Vitae, undergraduate and graduate degree transcripts, Medical School Diploma, USMLE transcripts or score reports, Dean's Letter, ECFMG certificate (if applicable), and three current recommendation letters supporting interest in Preventive Medicine.
The program emphasizes a comprehensive curriculum with rotations spanning various areas such as Integrated Preventive Medicine–Primary Care, MPH coursework, research, policy evaluation and advocacy, clinical preventive medicine, infectious diseases, and more.
