Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine Program provides an outstanding Internal Medicine residency program with a focus on comprehensive clinical training in both inpatient and ambulatory settings. The program offers 39 categorical interns, 10 primary care/social internal medicine interns, and 25 categorical preliminary interns each year. Their curriculum includes a 6 + 2 schedule for residents, allowing for a balance between inpatient and ambulatory experiences.
Application Deadline: Applications are accepted through December 1st of the year prior to matriculation. The program participates in NRMP with specific NRMP numbers for different tracks. DO candidates are accepted but must have taken USMLE Step 1 and preferably Step 2 by the time of application. Interviews are offered on a rolling basis and are by invitation only.
The program selectively considers applications from international medical graduates who have obtained a medical degree within 3 years of application, with evidence of continued clinical work and/or scholarly/research activity. Visa Sponsorship is available, and ECFMG certification is required by a specific deadline for visa sponsorship.
