Summa Health System/NEOMED Program

The Summa Health System/NEOMED Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program offers a comprehensive and community-based experience, integrating high-caliber university education through its association with NEOMED. This program prides itself on offering a breadth of experience in obstetrics, including access to state-of-the-art technology such as the DaVinci robotic surgery suite, and a significant volume of laparoscopic surgeries. With Summa Health being the leading provider of maternal care in Summit County, residents will benefit from deep and broad obstetric experiences, including exposure to a Special Care Nursery and Women’s Health Center. The program admits six new residents each year, ensuring personalized attention from a skilled faculty that spans hospital-based sub-specialists across the spectrum of maternal-fetal medicine, reproductive endocrinology and infertility, gynecologic oncology, and more.

Application Information:

• Application Dates for 2023 Interview Season: Applications open on October 1, 2023. Interview invitations will begin rolling out starting October 24, 2023. Interviews are conducted from November 3, 2023, to December 15, 2023, in a virtual format via Thalamus.
• Application Requirements: The program mandates completed USMLE Steps 1 & 2 or COMLEX Levels 1 & 2 with no exam failures. For USMLE, a minimum score of 220 is required, and for COMLEX, a minimum score of 575.
• International Medical Graduates (IMGs) are welcome with specific requirements including a USMLE minimum pass score of 220 with no exam failures, J1 Visas only, a maximum of 3 years since graduation, and ECFMG Certification. US clinical experience is not explicitly required.
