University of Kansas School of Medicine Program

The University of Kansas School of Medicine offers a comprehensive Rheumatology Fellowship, designed to provide fellows with extensive clinical, educational, and research experiences. The program is ACGME accredited and spans two years, during which fellows develop the skills necessary to succeed in various medical settings, including academia and community practice.

Fellows have access to a diverse patient population, supported by a team of highly qualified board-certified rheumatology faculty and excellent administrative staff. They receive training in essential skills such as rheumatologic musculoskeletal ultrasound and arthrocentesis techniques. The program sponsors J-1 visas for international medical graduates, making it accessible to applicants from diverse backgrounds. Application Requirements

Applicants must have completed an accredited internal medicine residency prior to applying. Key application requirements include submitting the ERAS application form, three letters of recommendation (with at least one from the residency program director), a personal statement, and transcripts from medical school and USMLE/COMLEX. Additionally, foreign graduates must provide an ECFMG status report.
