University of Rochester Program

The University of Rochester Obstetrics & Gynecology Residency Program offers a comprehensive training experience to prepare residents for careers in private practice, academics, and subspecialties within the field. Residents rotate at both Strong Memorial (university hospital) and Highland Hospital (community-based hospital), providing exposure to a diverse patient population. The program focuses on reproductive justice, abortion care, laparoscopic and robotic training, evidence-based medicine, quality improvement, and a range of clinical services including obstetrics, gynecology, family planning, pelvic health, and gynecologic oncology.

Application Requirements: - Prospective residents must pass USMLE Step 1 before applying and Step 2 by February 1, 2024. - Application criteria include medical school transcript, personal statement, MSPE letter, 3 letters of recommendation, scholastic accomplishments, and USMLE scores. - The program supports only J-1 visas for international medical students and requires ECFMG certification. - Applications past October 1, 2023, will not be reviewed. - The program participates in NRMP.

The program conducts interviews virtually, offering hands-on virtual experiences and interactions with faculty and residents. Interviewees receive an invitation via email through Thalamus scheduling software.
