The University of South Florida (USF) Health Urology Residency Program is a comprehensive five-year training program designed to cultivate excellent urologic surgeons. This program accommodates three residents each year and provides extensive training through rotations at five unique clinical sites. These sites include Tampa General Hospital, James A. Haley Veterans Hospital, Moffitt Cancer Center, AdventHealth Tampa, and Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children in Orlando. Each site offers a distinct clinical environment and diverse opportunities for hands-on surgical experience under the guidance of a dedicated and innovative faculty.

USF's residency program follows the AUA Urology Core Curriculum, ensuring that residents receive a well-rounded education that encompasses all essential aspects of urology. Residents engage in a robust volume of clinical cases, gaining invaluable experience through state-of-the-art simulation opportunities offered at the CAMLS Center. Training Sites

The training sites are strategically chosen to equip residents with extensive experience across different facets of urologic medicine.

Tampa General Hospital

As the primary teaching hospital, Tampa General Hospital (TGH) serves as a pivotal training site where residents engage with both adult and pediatric urology cases. The hospital is a private, not-for-profit facility with 877 beds, known for advanced medical care. Residents at TGH are exposed to a wide range of urologic conditions and surgical procedures, gaining experience in complex genitourinary conditions.

James A. Haley Veterans Hospital

The Veterans Administration Hospital provides residents with opportunities to work with a large patient volume, primarily focused on male genitourinary services. Moffitt Cancer Center

Located on the USF main campus, the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute provides a unique rotation focused on uro-oncology services. In the PGY-4 year, residents undertake a pediatric urology rotation at Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children, which is recognized as a Level I Children’s Surgery Center. This experience allows residents to manage various pediatric urological conditions effectively.
