Urology Residency Program Overview

The Urology Residency Program at USA Health stands out as a new, five-year training initiative designed for medical graduates eager to specialize in urology. This residency program received accreditation from the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) and is set to begin in July. The program aims to meet the increasing healthcare demands in the region by training highly skilled urologists who can provide comprehensive care for patients suffering from urologic disorders.

With the aim to nurture the next generation of skilled urologists, the program will accept two residents initially, intending to progressively accept one resident each subsequent year to build a robust training framework.

Curriculum Structure

The curriculum involves a structured training path consisting of an intern year primarily focused on general surgical training followed by four years dedicated to urologic specialty training. This training encompasses a diverse range of urological disciplines, which include:

• General Urology/Surgery
• Robotics
• Pediatric Urology
• Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery
• Trauma and Urologic Oncology

This incremental learning approach ensures that residents acquire a deep understanding and expertise in each specialization, ultimately preparing them for the challenges of independent practice.

Rotations and Clinical Exposure
