University of South Florida Morsani Program

The University of South Florida Obstetrics and Gynecology residency program is a 4-year ACGME accredited program. They recently increased their annual residents to 6 per year. The program is affiliated with Tampa General Hospital, recognized as the #1 hospital in Florida with an Ob-Gyn residency program. Residents also rotate at the Moffitt Cancer Center and Planned Parenthood clinics. The program emphasizes scholarly efforts, interprofessional collaboration, and quality improvement. The curriculum includes inpatient and outpatient experiences, dedicated didactic time, research, and exposure to various conditions and procedures in a supportive environment.

Application requirements include USMLE Step I & II results, CV, three letters of recommendation, medical school transcript, Dean's letter (MSPE), and personal statement. Interviews are by invitation only. They encourage early completion of USMLE Step II. The program values qualities like intelligence, compassion, teamwork, and flexibility.

The residency program supports diverse experiences and community engagement. They participate in various community initiatives, research projects, and educational opportunities.

The program holds an annual Resident Research Day where residents present their research projects. The winner receives an award and their name added to a plaque alongside past recipients. Visiting professors critique presentations and give lectures.

The stipends for residents vary annually - $60,967 for Resident I to $67,914 for Resident IV. Residents receive additional benefits including insurance coverage, educational resources, and paid vacation days.
