Vanderbilt University Medical Center Program
Plastic Surgery - Integrated - Nashville, TN | ACGME Code: 3624700002 | NRMP Code: 1702362C0
Vanderbilt University Medical Center offers an Integrated Residency Program in Plastic Surgery, in addition to their well-established independent program. They train two independent residents and one integrated resident each year, totaling 12 trainees. The program is designed to seamlessly integrate trainees in both pathways. Residents benefit from a diverse clinical volume in all areas of plastic surgery, including reconstructive and aesthetic procedures. The faculty includes experts in various subspecialties such as hand surgery, craniofacial surgery, breast reconstruction, microsurgery, and aesthetics.
Residents have opportunities for off-service rotations and elective time for additional educational experiences. They are encouraged to participate in research and quality improvement, with support for academic pursuits through travel budgets and educational stipends. The program's primary goal is to train outstanding plastic surgeons and support residents in finding their chosen path.
For applicants interested in the integrated plastic surgery residency, the program uses the plastic surgery common application and does not accept ERAS. Fellowship applications are accepted through the San Francisco Residency and Fellowship Matching Service.
For further inquiries, applicants can reach out to the Program Director, Brian Drolet MD, at [email protected] or the Associate Program Director, Izabela Galdyn, MD, at [email protected]. Beth Benson serves as the Residency Coordinator.
