- 3 blocks of Academic Medical Service (inpatient adult)

- 2 blocks of obstetrics
- 1 block of general surgery or anesthesia
- 2 weeks of pediatric night float and 2 weeks in ICU
- 1 block in psychiatry
- Introduction to Family Medicine
- 1 block in the Emergency Department
By the end of the first year, residents will start to feel confident in their transition to becoming family physicians.1
Second-Year Rotations
During the second year, the curriculum includes:
- 2-3 half days of outpatient office hours per week
- 2 blocks of Academic Medical Service
- 1 block each of ICU, pediatrics, obstetrics, nephrology, sports medicine, and practice management
- 3 elective blocks

Third-Year Rotations
The final year focuses on refining skills in preparation for independence in practice:
- 3-5 half days of outpatient office hours per week

Application Process and Eligibility
The UChicago Medicine AdventHealth Hinsdale Family Medicine residency program participates in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP). Applications are accepted exclusively through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). Required application documents include:

- School transcripts
- Three reference letters
- USMLE or COMLEX scores (no minimum score required, but numeric scores and attempts will be considered)
- ACLS/CPR certification prior to the start of the program

For International Medical Graduates (IMGs), additional requirements include U.S. citizenship or green card status, completion of clinical training in an ACGME-approved hospital, and educational qualifications meeting ECFMG standards.1
