The Pathology-Anatomic and Clinical Residency Program at Boston University Medical Center offers a comprehensive training experience through its affiliation with Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine. Curriculum Overview

Residents commence their training with a one-month orientation that includes hands-on instruction from certified pathology assistants, focusing on surgical pathology techniques, autopsy dissection, and frozen section operations. The program balances 27 months of AP training and 18 months of CP training, with an additional 3 months available for either discipline based on the resident's interests. Rotations occur in blocks of 4 to 5 weeks, integrating AP and CP throughout the four years of residency.

AP rotations include extensive hands-on exposure to surgical pathology and cytopathology, covering areas such as gastrointestinal pathology, neuropathology, dermatopathology, and more. CP rotations encompass blood bank/transfusion medicine, microbiology, chemistry, and hematopathology. Residents also engage in elective opportunities, further enhancing their specialized training experiences.
