The Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellowship Program at Jefferson Health in New Jersey is designed to develop highly competent leaders equipped to manage complex critical care and pulmonary cases. Program Overview

The fellowship program recruits three fellows annually and is fully accredited by ACGME. Curriculum

The fellowship curriculum is structured across several years:

• PGY4: 5 months of ICU, 5 months of Pulmonary, 2 Electives, 15 weekends
• PGY5: 4 months of ICU, 6 months of Pulmonary, 2 Electives, 10 weekends
• PGY6: 4 months of ICU, 4 months of Pulmonary, 4 Electives, 5 weekends

Elective opportunities include specialties such as interventional radiology, ultrasound, anesthesia, radiology, palliative medicine, and subspecialties of internal medicine, offering a comprehensive breadth of knowledge and experience.

Clinical Rotations & Procedures

Fellows will participate in numerous clinical rotations within state-of-the-art facilities located throughout South Jersey. Hospitals involved in the training include Jefferson Cherry Hill Hospital, Jefferson Stratford Hospital, and Jefferson Washington Township Hospital, among others that have undergone significant expansions to enhance patient care.

Clinical training encompasses a variety of key procedures, including:

• Airway management
• Chest tube placements
• Thoracentesis
• Bronchoscopy
• Endobronchial ultrasound

Advanced procedures may include cryobiopsy, endobronchial stent placements, and endobronchial mass debulking.

Research Opportunities

Alongside clinical training, fellows are encouraged to participate in research projects and quality improvement initiatives, fostering a deeper understanding of evidence-based practice within pulmonary and critical care medicine.1
