Loyola University Medical Center Program

The Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Residency Program at Loyola University Medical Center offers a comprehensive educational experience focusing on academic, clinical, ethical, moral, and personal growth dimensions. Loyola has a long history of training excellent plastic surgeons, with a legacy dating back to 1971. The program excels in areas such as oncoplastic reconstruction, maxillofacial trauma, hand and extremity trauma, limb salvage, body contouring, and facial cosmetic surgery.

The Integrated Plastic Surgery Residency program at Loyola provides residents with exceptional training opportunities in various subspecialties within plastic and reconstructive surgery. Residents also have the chance to rotate at Shriners Hospital and Lurie Children's Hospital. The curriculum includes new technologies like advanced microvascular and lymphatic reconstruction, cutting-edge laser therapy, and a focus on quality improvement and surgical risk reduction.

Applicants to the program should apply through ERAS or PSCA and be registered with the NRMP. The application requirements include three letters of recommendation, Dean's Letter, personal statement, medical school transcript, and USMLE scores. The application deadline is October 1, with interviews conducted in January for training starting in June.
