The Plastic Surgery Integrated Residency Program at McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University is known for its strong faculty, impressive residents, and balanced structure. The program admits two plastic surgeons each year.
Application to the integrated plastic surgery residency program can be made via the Plastic Surgery Common Application (PSCA) or the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). International medical graduates must hold a current and valid ECFMG certificate. Each applicant must have taken and passed Step 1 of the USMLE and have a current/valid English qualifying examination.
Residents in the program receive clinical experience in various areas of plastic surgery practice, including aesthetic surgery, congenital anomalies, reconstructive surgery, tumors, hand and peripheral nerve surgery, and trauma. The program offers outpatient clinics at various medical centers and provides opportunities for research, including a fully-funded required research year.
