The Family Medicine Residency Program at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center is a 3-year program aimed at preparing residents to provide competent, compassionate, and continuous care for the entire family. The program boasts academic excellence and a 100% ABFM pass rate for graduating residents. The key aims include educating residents to be caring physicians, providing high-quality patient care and education, and striving for continual improvement through innovation and self-assessment.

Application requirements for consideration include being a United States Citizen, permanent resident, or able to obtain a Visa. International medical graduates must have a valid ECFMG certification or a full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the U.S. Additionally, candidates need to submit an ERAS application with various components such as an Official Dean's Letter, letters of recommendation, a personal statement, CV, medical school transcript, and USMLE or COMLEX test scores. Preference is given to graduates with MD or DO degrees within the past two years and who have passed USMLE Step 1 and Step 2. The deadline to apply for the 2025-2026 Academic Year is December 1, with all interviews conducted via Zoom.

The program curriculum includes weekly didactics, monthly inpatient M&M cases, journal club sessions, and Balint Group meetings, providing residents with a comprehensive educational experience.
